Capitol Fiber, Inc. ("Capitol") is
a joint venture of The Washington Post Company and Canusa Corporation.
Established in 1990 in response to the District of Columbia's initiative
to process and market its curbside collected old newspaper, the Company
is now a full-service MRF, which processes nearly 10,000 tons per month
or recyclables.
Capitol has expanded into a 100,000 SF facility in Springfield, Virginia,
owned by a subsidiary of The Washington Post. The location is convenient
to both I95 and I495, and
is served by the Norfolk Southern Railroad.
Managed by Canusa Corporation in conjunction with Canusa Hershman Recycling
Company, Capitol Fiber prides itself in providing local municipalities
and waste handlers the best possible service and revenue sharing.
